Tour Description
Be mesmerised by the beauty of Bruny Island’s most amazing sights from the sea. See some of the highest sea cliffs in Australia, the ‘Breathing Rock’, ‘The Monument’, sea caves and more. Delight in close encounters with penguins, seals, albatross, dolphins and whales. This full-day (approx.. 9.5hrs) journey includes a return guided bus tour, a delicious morning tea and lunch, an amazing three-hour Wilderness Cruise, other sightseeing and even weather proof jackets!
You’ll board your comfortable bus at Hobart’s Booking Centre, for an early morning (7.45am approx.) scenic drive to Adventure Bay. From there, you’ll hop aboard one of the custom-built yellow boats – also known as the ‘4WD’s of the sea’, thanks to their unparalleled safety, comfort and eco-friendliness. Once you are settled in to your comfortable tiered seat, your exciting journey will begin.
It’s time to get your (water resistant) camera ready, as you cruise past some of Australia’s tallest sea cliffs. You’ll marvel at the sheer grandeur of these imposing cliffs as you get right up alongside them! After you gently drift below impressive jutting escarpments, you will see (and hear) the amazing Breathing Rock – a naturally formed cave at water-level that forcefully sucks in and blows out water and air with the rolling of the waves.
You’ll get the chance to cruise within deep, dark sea caves, before passing through the tight gap that separates the coast from the stately monument – a tall, natural stone spire. Then, you’ll visit the location where the Tasman Sea meets the Southern Ocean. Here, you’ll witness the amazing tidal power that this natural phenomenon creates. Along your journey, your friendly and entertaining guide will help you to spot a variety of local wildlife, including migrating whales, dolphins, Australian fur seals, inquisitive penguins, stately albatross and many ore species of sea and bird life.
After your cruise, you’ll enjoy a tasty lunch, before jumping back on the bus for for some more sightseeing and your return trip to Hobart (at approx. 5:30pm), where hotel transfers are available.
